Who Are We

Warner Bros. Discovery’s Converged AdTech & Linear Systems (CALS), part of the Technology and Operations organization, powers the company’s global Advertising Technology (AdTech) ecosystem — enabling the Pitch-to-Pay journey through agentic workflows and excellence-driven engineering. Your New Role

The Full-Stack Software Engineering Internship Program offers a 6-month immersive experience for students passionate about building and scaling end-to-end applications. You will work closely with our engineering teams to design user-facing interfaces, build backend services and APIs, and integrate data across the stack to power Warner Bros. Discovery’s consumer products and digital transformation initiatives — real engineering projects built on the cloud technologies, modern web frameworks, and development tools used in enterprise-grade production environments. We are looking for engineering-focused, detail-oriented problem solvers who enjoy understanding how data flows through systems, with a strong engineering mindset, a passion for automation, and an interest in designing scalable solutions; if you love coding, debugging, and optimizing workflows, this internship is for you. Across the six months you will be mentored by senior engineers and solution architects, learn from WBD’s global technology leaders through our Tech Speaker Series, contribute to cross-regional initiatives across brands and functions, and build your network through structured intern events.

In this role, you will: 
• Software development and integration: build and maintain services for ad-serving, campaign management, and identity systems, and develop APIs and integrations with third-party AdTech partners and data providers. 
• Data engineering: design and implement ETL pipelines and real-time data processing for ad performance, forecasting, and yield optimization, working with big data frameworks such as Spark and Kafka. 
• Platform modernization: contribute to the migration of legacy systems to modular, cloud native architectures, and implement observability, security, and compliance best practices. 
• UI engineering and experience development: design responsive, accessible interfaces for ad serving dashboards, campaign management consoles, and reporting tools using React, TypeScript, and state management patterns for complex, data-dense views. 
• Data visualization and real-time rendering: build interactive visualizations and streaming displays that turn large-scale datasets into clear, actionable insights and keep campaign metrics current without page reloads.

Key Domain 
• Frontend Development and Modern UI Design: JavaScript with React or Next.js, TypeScript, browser rendering, and responsive, accessible interfaces. 
• Backend Development: services built in Java, Scala, or Python, with REST and GraphQL APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, on the AWS cloud platform. 
• Data Platforms and APIs: big data tools such as Spark and Kafka, and streaming architectures powering ad performance and forecasting.

Key Learning Outcomes 
• Hands-on exposure to data engineering tools, cloud ecosystems, and modern frontend frameworks. 
• Understanding of how large-scale data platforms are architected and maintained.   
• Experience with ETL/ELT automation, orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.   
• Deep appreciation of data quality, reliability, and governance in a production-grade environment.   
• Ability to translate engineering work into measurable business impact.
