Golang Engineer

About the Role

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Golang Engineer to support the continued development and migration of a fast-growing SaaS product in the marketplace sector.

This is a backend-focused role where you will work on scalable services, contribute to migration activities, and help improve the reliability and maintainability of the platform as it evolves.

You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product stakeholders in a flexible, fast-moving environment and contribute to both technical delivery and broader engineering decisions.

The role is remote, with occasional visits to Vilnius potentially required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Golang.
• Support migration activities for a growing SaaS platform.
• Design and implement scalable, reliable backend components.
• Contribute to backend architecture and technical design discussions.
• Improve the performance, maintainability, and resilience of existing services.
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product stakeholders.
• Translate product and technical requirements into practical backend solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend and integration issues.
• Support continuous improvement of development workflows and delivery practices.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in Agile planning, estimation, and delivery activities.
• Adapt effectively to changing project priorities and requirements.

Essential Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Golang backend development.
• Experience working on SaaS products or scalable backend systems.
• Strong understanding of backend software engineering principles and development practices.
• Experience designing and maintaining APIs and backend integrations.
• Ability to work effectively in a changing project environment.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to write maintainable, well-structured, and testable code.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup.
• Availability for occasional visits to Vilnius when required.

Preferred Requirements

• Lithuanian language skills.
• Experience supporting application or platform migration initiatives.
• Experience working with distributed systems or microservice-based architectures.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automated deployment workflows.
• Experience working in high-growth product environments.
• Understanding of cloud-based backend infrastructure.
• Experience improving performance and scalability in production systems.

What We Offer

• Location: Vilnius, Lithuania.
• Contract Type: B2B.
• Compensation: €35–40/hour.
• Start Date: ASAP.
• Work Model: Remote.
• Contract Duration: 18–24 months, with possible extension.
• Occasional visits to Vilnius may be required.
