We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join the team at our Norridge, IL location. Then keep reading! The Norridge location of NSI is a progressive manufacturer of die castings that has been in business for 60+ years, and we look forward to having you join our team! Please note, this is a full-time, 1st shift position (7am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday).

General Summary
Accountable for making sure that the overall part quality meets customer specification.
Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned material per Control Plan
• Identify non-conforming material
• Complete all in-process inspection records
• Approve in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments
• Accept/reject production material
• Stop production when non-conformity has been detected
• Provide quality instructions to operators
• Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into database
• Complete First-piece Set-up Inspection Report
• Follow up on repair tags
• Prepare various quality documents
• Report quality concerns
• Perform other duties as assigned   

Required Qualifications

• Basic understanding of blueprints
• Basic math skills
• Proficiency in reading and writing
• Proficient use of measuring/inspection equipment i.e. micrometers, calipers, indicators etc.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs. regularly, have adequate manual dexterity, be able to walk and stand for continuous hours on concrete floors and work at a computer station

Salary Range: $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
