Retirement Plans Specialist

 

Job Summary

Responsible for performing a range of moderately complex transactions relating to the defined benefit pension plans of Corewell Health. Establishes process improvements and recommendations. Directly supports the daily operations of the system pension team and is responsible for assisting with the administration of all pension plans. Demonstrates pension plan expertise when engaging with team members, vendors and other areas of HR as needed.

Essential Functions

• Responds to internal, external and general pension plan inquiries utilizing Workday, ServiceNow, Willis Towers Watson (WTW) retirement system and various other legacy data information systems. 
• Assists with reviewing, analyzing, inputting, and reporting data in collaboration with Willis Towers Watson (WTW), Deloitte, HRIS, payroll, benefits and other HR areas to ensure accuracy of data to be used in all pension plan calculations.
• Meet with participants to review pension forms, check mailroom for incoming mail, scan and upload documents, send former team members reminder letters and application forms, run pension estimates and other pension plan administration duties.
• Analyzes demographic data and reviews pension plan data while ensuring the accuracy of the team members pension plan eligibility.
• Partners in compliance/risk mitigation strategies, conducts audits and ensures data integrity for all process changes implemented within pension plans operations data flow. Conducts ongoing reviews to ensure pension plans remain in compliance with IRS and DOL rules.
• Performs all other general tasks and duties in support of the system pension plan team operations.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or related area
• 2 years of relevant experience in retirement plan administration or related area
