Harbinger Network has partnered with an established, award-winning architectural millwork manufacturer specializing in high-end custom millwork and architectural woodwork for commercial projects across Canada and internationally.
We are seeking an experienced Finishing Supervisor to take ownership of our finishing department and lead a skilled team in delivering exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and production performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines strong technical finishing skills with the ability to organize, motivate, coach, and hold a team accountable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, coach, and develop the finishing team.
- Assign daily work and manage priorities to meet production schedules.
- Set and maintain standards for quality, productivity, and safety.
- Oversee stains, paints, sealers, lacquers, topcoats, colour matching, shading, and touch-ups.
- Operate and oversee HVLP spray systems, spray booths, and finishing equipment.
- Troubleshoot finishing and production issues and implement solutions.
- Coordinate with Production, Project Management, Engineering, and Shipping.
- Monitor department performance, labour, materials, and production schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe finishing environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, quality, efficiency, and reduce rework.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of finishing experience in millwork, architectural millwork, cabinetry, furniture, or a similar environment.
- 2+ years of supervisory, lead-hand, or team leadership experience, even from a different industry
- Strong knowledge of finishing materials, techniques, and equipment.
- Experience with HVLP spray systems and spray booths.
- Ability to read shop drawings, finishing schedules, and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with high-end commercial or architectural finishing is an asset.
- Knowledge of Lean/continuous improvement practices is an asset.
- Experience with Innergy and/or Bluebeam is an asset.
