Description
Our client, a major organisation within the financial-services sector, is seeking an experienced Strategy Support Manager to support strategic planning, performance management, market intelligence and the execution of strategic initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to translate organisational priorities into measurable business outcomes, while supporting strategic decision-making across a complex and highly regulated environment.
This is a three-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of strategic plans, frameworks and annual operating plans.
- Assist with formalising and documenting strategic-planning processes.
- Gather and analyse data to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare planning materials and support strategic-planning sessions.
- Ensure alignment between Group Strategy, divisional strategy and functional business plans.
- Conduct market analysis and competitive-landscape assessments.
- Monitor industry trends, market opportunities and strategic risks.
- Prepare competitive-intelligence reports and strategic insights for senior leadership.
- Support the development and implementation of KPIs and strategic scorecards.
- Maintain performance dashboards and analyse strategic-performance data.
- Identify performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate strategic initiatives and projects across multiple stakeholders.
- Develop project plans, timelines and resource requirements.
- Monitor progress, manage risks and prepare status reports for senior leadership.
- Conduct financial analysis, scenario planning and business-case evaluations.
- Support financial modelling, capital planning and return-on-investment analysis.
- Prepare executive presentations, reports and Board-level materials.
- Support senior stakeholder engagement and strategic discussions across the organisation.
- Assist with the development of strategic partnerships and alliances.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or NQF Level 9 qualification in Business Management, Strategy, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Insurance, Actuarial Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business strategy, management consulting, strategic project delivery, business administration or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting strategic planning and execution within a complex organisation.
- Strong market, competitor and business-analysis experience.
- Experience developing or monitoring KPIs, dashboards and performance reports.
- Experience coordinating strategic initiatives and leading project-execution teams.
- Strong data and information-sourcing capability, with the ability to translate analysis into strategic insight.
- Financial-modelling, business-case and scenario-planning experience.
- Experience preparing executive and Board-level presentations.
- Financial-services or insurance experience would be advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder-management, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and influence senior stakeholders.
- South African citizenship and Employment Equity requirements may apply.
