We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented Steward to join our Culinary team. As a Steward, you'll play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of our kitchen, dishwashing stations, and banquet service areas while ensuring our Culinary and Food & Beverage teams have the clean equipment and supplies they need to deliver exceptional service.

What You'll Do

As a key member of our Culinary team, you'll help keep kitchen and banquet operations running smoothly through cleanliness, efficiency, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining high sanitation and safety standards.

Dishwashing & Kitchen Sanitation

• Operate, clean, and maintain dishwashing equipment to ensure proper functioning and sanitation.

• Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.

• Pre-scrape dishes and ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned according to established sanitation procedures.

• Properly handle glassware, dishes, and kitchen equipment to minimize breakage and maintain their condition.

• Clean and sanitize dishwashing stations, countertops, tables, sinks, and surrounding work areas.

• Keep dishwashing areas clean, organized, and stocked with the necessary supplies throughout each shift.

Culinary & Banquet Support

• Ensure the Culinary team has clean pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and equipment readily available for food preparation and service.

• Stock cooking stations and kitchen service areas with the necessary clean dishes and utensils.

• Maintain clean and organized banquet dishwashing areas, including glass racks, steam tables, and other designated equipment.

• Clean and maintain silverware, carving boards, and banquet service equipment according to established standards.

• Organize dishes, glassware, and utensils in designated storage areas to ensure accessibility and efficiency.

• Work collaboratively with Culinary, Banquet, and Food & Beverage team members to support daily operations and special events.

Kitchen Cleanliness & Organization

• Maintain clean, orderly, and sanitary kitchen, dishwashing, and banquet service areas throughout each shift.

• Sweep and mop kitchen floors to help maintain a safe and sanitary working environment.

• Monitor and empty trash containers regularly, following proper waste handling and disposal procedures.

• Ensure pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and returned to designated storage locations.

• Keep dishwashing equipment, racks, storage areas, and workstations organized and ready for use.

• Assist with additional kitchen cleaning and organizational duties as needed to support smooth operations.

Safety, Sanitation & Teamwork

• Follow established food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace safety standards.

• Use proper cleaning products, chemicals, and equipment according to established procedures.

• Practice safe lifting, handling, and storage techniques when working with dishes, equipment, and supplies.

• Remain alert to potential hazards and promptly report unsafe conditions, spills, or equipment concerns to a supervisor.

• Work closely with fellow Stewards, Cooks, Chefs, and other hotel team members to maintain an efficient and supportive work environment.

• Assist team members as business needs change, demonstrating flexibility, reliability, and a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous stewarding, dishwashing, restaurant, kitchen, and/or hospitality experience preferred, but not required.

• Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and detail.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Willingness to learn and follow established cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures.

• Ability to operate dishwashing equipment and handle kitchen tools and supplies safely.

• Dependable, punctual, and committed to completing assigned responsibilities.

• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Positive attitude and willingness to assist fellow team members whenever needed.

• Commitment to maintaining food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

• Ability to perform the physical responsibilities of the position, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Flexible availability based on business needs, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
