Assistant Site Manager

New build developer is looking for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join the team and contribute towards the delivery of a brand new development in County Durham. The right candidate will be responsible for working alongside the Site Manager managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, to a high standard and with minimal disruption to residents. The successful candidate must have strong new build housing experience and be confident managing subcontractors, operatives and customers.

The Role

• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site.

• Manage subcontractors, trades and site operatives to ensure productivity and quality.

• Ensure all works comply with current health & safety legislation, company procedures and site requirements.

• Monitor programme, progress and quality, taking action to address delays or issues.

• Coordinate materials, labour, plant and deliveries.

• Carry out regular site inspections and maintain high standards of workmanship.

• Maintain accurate site records, including site diaries, progress reports and health & safety documentation.

• Identify and resolve site issues promptly and effectively.

• Ensure projects are delivered within budget and to the required specification.

• Attend progress meetings and provide regular updates on site performance.

Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Manager within new build housing is essential

• Strong knowledge of construction health & safety requirements.

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

• The ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors effectively.

• A strong understanding of construction programmes, quality control and site documentation.

• A professional and proactive approach to problem-solving.

• The confidence to communicate effectively with residents, clients and senior management.

• Relevant Site Management qualifications, such as SMSTS, and a valid CSCS card, First Aid. 

Remuneration

£40,000 to £45,000 per annum together with a comprehensive benefits package.
