Basket Operator

Basket Operators are responsible for operating and monitoring the basket equipment used during the loading and transpooling of umbilicals and flexible risers. Candidates must have relevant practical experience in basket operations and handling these products during heavy load vessel projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating and monitoring basket equipment during the transpooling of umbilicals and flexible risers.
• Coordinating with the Deck Foreman / Rigging Foreman, riggers and the Assistant OCM to ensure safe and controlled operations.
• Monitoring the product during transpooling to prevent damage, twisting, tangling or other integrity issues.
• Providing instructions to the rigging team regarding product handling, positioning and packing requirements.
• Ensuring the correct positioning and use of packing materials, including PET foam blocks, to protect the product.
• Monitoring basket loading, product distribution and securing arrangements in accordance with project instructions.
• Identifying and reporting equipment defects, irregularities or unsafe conditions.
• Following approved procedures, toolbox talks, risk assessments and Permit-to-Work requirements.
• Maintaining good housekeeping and ensuring safe working conditions throughout operations.
