Cook

Great Western Dining Service at our Ranger College located in Ranger, TX, is looking for a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals.. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.

Hours: 6:45am - 2:30pm 

Responsibilities:

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Prepare, portion, cook food items for various meal periods or special events
• Ability to follow basic recipes and production information
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Follow all company HACCP and safety policies

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as cook
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Very good communication skills

Physical requirements of the job:

• Continuous standing/walking and other means of mobility up to 8 hours a day
•  Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push/pull and frequently lift/move up to 30 pounds
