Manufacturing Engineer (Fabrication & Paint) at CRTT

As a Manufacturing Engineer – Fabrication & Paint, you will provide engineering support for fabrication and painting operations, with a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, cost, and continuous improvement. You will develop and improve manufacturing processes, support New Product Introduction, implement lifting and material-handling solutions, and use digital and Industry 4.0 technologies to improve process visibility, traceability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement projects across fabrication and painting processes, focusing on process flow, cycle time, lifting devices, safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and equipment performance to identify opportunities for improved reliability, efficiency, quality, ergonomics, and safety.
  • Lead and coordinate comprehensive manufacturing process audits, ensuring adherence to applicable quality, safety, engineering, and operational standards.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including manufacturing process design, process readiness, lifting-device development, equipment requirements, and implementation of engineering changes.
  • Develop, review, and maintain manufacturing quality and risk-management documentation, including Control Plans, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and System Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (SFMEA).
  • Lead digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives within fabrication and paint operations, including automated tracking and monitoring solutions that strengthen process traceability and enable real-time quality control.
  • Support the design, modification, installation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and lifting devices.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and equipment reliability, investigate problem areas, and implement sustainable corrective and preventive improvements.
  • Evaluate engineering changes and determine their impact on fabrication, painting, equipment, tooling, process flow, safety, quality, and production requirements.
  • Develop business cases and cost calculations for manufacturing improvement projects, coordinating with Finance and other cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate investment, savings, and project benefits.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; or equivalent relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, production engineering, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLCs, automation systems, or automated production equipment is preferred.
  • Fabrication / Paint Experience: Practical experience supporting fabrication, welding, industrial painting, coating, assembly, or other manufacturing processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing improvements related to process flow, cycle time, productivity, quality, safety, ergonomics, or manufacturing cost.
  • Manufacturing Quality: Working knowledge of manufacturing quality and risk-management tools such as Control Plans, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), System Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (SFMEA), root cause analysis, and process audits.
  • Engineering Support: Experience developing, modifying, or supporting manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures, material-handling systems, or lifting devices.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to investigate manufacturing problems, identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and monitor improvements for effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain, Finance, Maintenance, Product Engineering, and other manufacturing stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), including process design, tooling, and engineering changes.
  • Experience in fabrication and/or industrial paint operations.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, automation, or process monitoring systems.
