Maintenance Operative - Ampthill

Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week

Pay: £13.81 to £14.62 per hour, depending on experience

Contract: Temp to Perm

 

We are looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Operative to join an established hire company on a temp-to-perm basis. This is a varied role suited to someone with experience in general maintenance, repairs, joinery or refurbishment.

You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining site cabins, accommodation units and welfare facilities, making sure they are in good condition and ready for customers to hire.

 

Duties will include:

• General repairs and refurbishment of site cabins and welfare units.

• Basic carpentry and joinery, including fitting sinks, partitions and wall panels.

• Carrying out minor plumbing and electrical repairs.

• Painting and decorating units (full training provided).

• Cleaning and preparing units ready for hire.

• Checking tools and equipment are maintained and stored correctly.

• Keeping an eye on materials and stock levels.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in property maintenance, building maintenance, refurbishment or a similar practical role.

• Good DIY skills and confidence using hand and power tools.

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, joinery or carpentry.

• A reliable and flexible approach to work.

• The ability to undertake physically demanding tasks.

A forklift licence would be beneficial but is not essential, as training can be provided. Previous experience with site accommodation or welfare units would be an advantage but is not essential.
