Functions under the direction of a physical therapist in planning and carrying out prescribed physical therapy treatment to facilitate the rehabilitation of mentally or physically handicapped patients. Implements treatment plans and selects modalities to meet specific established goals. Conducts or assists with patient activities and maintains appropriate records. 1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2. Provides effective therapy treatments based on age specific, cultural, and rehabilitative needs and in compliance of hospital licensing and accreditation standards and in compliance with the Physical Therapy Practice Act. 3. Provides thorough, timely, legible, and consistent patient care documentation. 4. Individual productivity meets department standards. 5. Provides effective education and mentoring for student interns as assigned. 6. Utilizes all resources to assist with patient flow as applicable (prints forms, schedules patients, etc.). 7. Participates in special department programs. 8. Facilitates interdisciplinary communication and coordination to maximize patient outcomes. 9. Communicates positively, appropriately, and in a timely fashion to all communications including patients, co-workers, supervisors, other departments, physicians, etc. 10. Maintains equipment supplies and treatment areas. 11. Performs other duties as assigned.
