Schedule: Monday to Friday | 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a professional Unarmed Retail Security Officer to support a busy retail location in Denver. This position focuses on maintaining a welcoming environment where customers, employees, and visitors feel safe while helping protect company property and assets.
We believe that effective security starts with communication, professionalism, and respect. Officers assigned to this location are expected to resolve situations through de-escalation whenever possible, using strong interpersonal skills to build positive interactions while maintaining a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Security

• Maintain a visible security presence throughout the retail property.
• Conduct routine patrols of the sales floor, entrances, exits, parking areas, and surrounding property.
• Observe customer and employee activity to identify safety concerns or suspicious behavior.
• Help prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activity through proactive observation.
• Report hazardous conditions or maintenance concerns that could impact safety.

Customer Engagement

• Welcome customers and visitors with a professional and approachable demeanor.
• Provide assistance by answering questions or directing guests when appropriate.
• Use conflict resolution and verbal de-escalation techniques to address disruptive situations.
• Promote a positive shopping environment while maintaining company and client standards.
• Build trust with customers through respectful and professional interactions.

Incident Response

• Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, or emergency situations.
• Coordinate with management and emergency responders when additional assistance is required.
• Protect people and property while following established site procedures.
• Preserve accurate information regarding incidents for proper documentation.

Reporting & Documentation

• Complete daily activity reports and detailed incident documentation.
• Record observations clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
• Communicate important operational updates to supervisors and client representatives.
• Follow all company policies, post orders, and client-specific procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Excellent observation and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Reliable attendance and professional work ethic.
• Ability to successfully pass required background screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail security, customer service, hospitality, or loss prevention.
• Strong verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience in preparing incident reports and daily activity logs.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.

• Active retail environment with frequent interaction with customers, employees, vendors, and management.
