VP, Technical Services (Data Centers)

What this job involves:

This position provides strategic leadership for critical facilities account management, driving growth and operational excellence. You will lead a team of Critical Facilities Managers and mission critical operators while maintaining critical systems operations. The role requires direct oversight of MEP facilities management, vendor relationships, and building maintenance across a global portfolio. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for clients and facility professionals while managing all aspects of construction projects, client relationships, and financial performance.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Managing delivery of critical facilities services across the assigned portfolio in accordance with all agreed policies, procedures, and contract scope

• Acting as the primary point of contact for clients and facility professionals, developing and cultivating key relationships with landlords, property management companies, and third-party service providers

• Providing direct oversight of operational MEP facilities management, vendor relationships, and MEP building maintenance

• Managing team members at a management level to ensure team performance, facilities maintenance and upkeep, and addressing issues or escalations

• Serving as the MEP project management contact for all office renovation and expansion projects in global offices, coordinating with architects, space planners, MEP/AV consultants, real estate brokers, and construction service providers

• Overseeing MEP construction project management, vendor coordination, administration, and maintenance oversight for all existing workspaces in global offices

• Managing managed staff hours including additional support requirements and coordinating support with client

• Overseeing monthly billing management and tracking of additional services to ensure cost control and profitability

• Ensuring compliance with all client contract requirements and meeting or exceeding Key Performance Indicators to deliver exceptional service quality

Desired experience and technical skills:

Requirements:

• 10-15 years of experience in a similar role

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Business Management from four-year college or university; or 10-15 years related technical experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Previous experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of critical electrical and mechanical systems supporting data centers

• Strong working knowledge of critical electrical and mechanical systems supporting Data Centers

• Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts

• Hands-on project management experience with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget

• Ability to manage all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently including budgeting, scheduling, submittals, and change orders

• Extensive knowledge of MS Office applications and MS Project

• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients as well as external team members

• Highly organized with strong analytical skills

• Ability to regularly articulate and communicate analyzed data to client and team to achieve project goals

• Comfortable holding people accountable, managing through conflict, and working through day-to-day challenges with common sense

• Ability to work at client offices in Stamford, CT, Orangeburg, NY and New York City on a rotating daily basis (remote work not available)

• Travel as needed (20-45%)

Preferred:

• LEED, AIA, PE, or PMP certifications

Estimated compensation for this position:

195,000.00 – 225,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
