Your Responsibilities
The Opportunity:
The Programme Manager keeps three critical academic processes running accurately on time and to a consistently high standard: within the faculty team; examination and assessment production and other appropriate coordination, faculty thesis coordination and digital content monitoring on Canvas. Sitting within the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching the role is the internal faculty coordination point that tracks deadlines, documentation and content quality across academic schools/departments and campuses, flagging risks and following up so that issues are resolved quickly and by the right people.
You will coordinate examination readiness, monitor thesis progress and conduct regular Canvas audits, working closely with internal quality assurance and other stakeholders.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to: Head of Centre of Teaching, Learning and Assessment
Works closely with: Department Heads, Module Leaders, thesis supervisors, the Director of Thesis Quality, IT/Digital Learning, and Professional Services.
Internal stakeholders: students, academic staff, module leaders, thesis supervisors, Department Heads, the Director of Thesis Quality and Professional Services
External stakeholders: external examiners and, where relevant, examination boards.
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
Examination Coordination
- Coordinate examination preparation and alignment within the faculty team and with professional services stakeholders
- Track assessment documentation and invigilation arrangements, following up with the relevant teams to ensure everything is in place ahead of each exam period.
- Coordinate resit organisation with the relevant faculty and liaise with appropriate professional services
- Act as first point of contact from faculty and support professional services in supporting students with appropriate advice.
- Thesis Coordination
- Monitor thesis registration, submission deadlines and student progress, flagging risks to on-time completion to the Director of Thesis Quality.
- Act as a point of contact for thesis-related student queries generated within the faculty area, working closely with the Director of Thesis Quality and supervisors to resolve them.
- Track submission requirements, such as formatting and originality checks, and follow up with students and supervisors on outstanding items.
- Escalate unresolved thesis issues or emerging risks to the Director of Thesis Quality or any relevant teams as needed
Digital Content Monitoring
- Conduct regular audits of Canvas modules to check that learning materials, assessment briefs, schedules and essential module information are accurate, current and accessible.
- Work with module leaders to close gaps identified during audits, following up until content meets institutional learning, teaching and assessment standards.
- Flag structural or content inconsistencies to module leaders and escalate unresolved technical issues to appropriate stakeholders
- Maintain an overview of Canvas compliance across allocated programmes and report emerging patterns to the relevant stakeholder.

Your profile
Essential Qualifications
- A university degree, or an equivalent qualification gained through relevant experience.
Essential Experience
- Experience in areas of or demonstrably relatable to examinations administration, thesis or assessment coordination, or a similar coordination role within an education institution.
- Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Totara etc including conducting content audits.
Essential Skills
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of examination regulations, thesis processes and Canvas or LMS good practice.
- Excellent coordination and diplomatic skills to liaise effectively with Registry, IT, Department Heads, module leaders and the Director of Thesis Quality.
- Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Desirable Criteria
- Good working knowledge of German.
- Familiarity with the German higher education framework, including ECTS and examination regulations.
- Experience with Canvas administration or conducting LMS content audits.
- Experience in a similar coordination role across multiple campuses
- Teaching experience in any formal educational context
