Tecnológico Y Logístico De Vigo Rua B - Parcela 1010 36314 VIGO, Pontevedra SpainThe Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, validation, standardization, and technical support of electrical systems used in elevator modernization projects across the EMEA region. The role ensures compliance with applicable standards, supports product development activities, and provides technical solutions for both standard and non-standard modernization applications. The engineer works closely with system engineers, mechanical engineers, factories, quality teams, and field organizations to ensure safe, competitive, and reliable products. Based on responsibilities reflected in EMEA MOD Engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design & Product Development
Develop and maintain electrical architectures, wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical bills of materials for MOD products.
Define electrical requirements for new modernization packages and product enhancements.
Review and validate electrical documentation before product release.
Support system-level design activities and product standardization initiatives.
Ensure compatibility between controllers, drives, safety devices, machines, fixtures, and peripheral equipment.
Technical Validation & Audits
Perform technical audits of electrical documentation and manufactured units.
Identify discrepancies between drawings, installation instructions, and supplied components.
Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for design-related issues.
Support quality investigations, field feedback, and continuous improvement activities. Activities similar to electrical audit reports prepared within MOD Engineering
Technical Support
Provide electrical engineering support to factories, contract engineering teams, sales engineering, and field operations.
Evaluate customer-specific requirements and propose compliant technical solutions.
Support troubleshooting of complex electrical issues during installation and commissioning.
Participate in design reviews and functional readiness assessments
Continuous Improvement
Drive standardization and simplification of electrical designs.
Improve documentation quality and engineering processes.
Benchmark competitor solutions and emerging technologies.
Contribute to innovation, cost reduction, reliability improvements, and product performance enhancements.
