Iron Mountain is seeking a strategic and results-driven Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Buyer to join our Data Centre Procurement team.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Capital Expenditure (Capex) and Operational Expenditure (Opex) sourcing, negotiation, and overall supply management for critical Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems and services. You will join an innovative, fast-paced team dedicated to expanding and sustaining mission-critical data centre infrastructure globally.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Strategic Procurement & Sourcing: Execute end-to-end tendering processes, bid evaluations, commercial negotiations, and purchase order fulfillment for high-value data centre infrastructure packages.
Vendor & Partner Management: Cultivate robust supplier relationships, conduct performance evaluations, and identify alternate supply chain avenues to mitigate risk.
Commercial Optimization: Drive benchmark analyses, cost-saving initiatives, and value engineering while evaluating market trends and commodity pricing dynamics.
Mission-Critical Supply Management: Oversee logistics and schedule synchronization for specialized data centre equipment, including Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, switchgear, and Fire Suppression solutions.
Compliance & Risk Governance: Ensure full compliance with technical specifications, enterprise procurement policies, internal audits, and construction timelines.
What You’ll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
10–15 years of procurement experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP), construction, or mission-critical facilities (e.g., hyperscale/colocation data centres).
Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure systems, contract negotiation, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms like SAP or Oracle.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Construction Management, or a related field.
Proven expertise in managing multi-million-dollar Capex and Opex packages and supplier portfolios.
Familiarity with Tier III and Tier IV data centre design standards and international sourcing strategies.
