JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Material Manager - HBG is responsible for supporting material sourcing and production execution for the handbag division. Reporting to the Associate Director of Raw Materials Sourcing, this role manages material delivery follow-up, coordinates quality control activities, and drives resolution of material-related issues. The position partners closely with suppliers, factories, and cross-functional teams to ensure materials meet quality, compliance, and on-time delivery requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Delivery and On-Time Performance: Track and manage bulk material delivery schedules to support material availability and overall on-time delivery performance.
• Quality Issue Resolution: Investigate material quality issues identified after factory receipt, lead root-cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers, factories, and internal partners.
• Material Testing and Compliance: Coordinate material testing activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality requirements.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams to address material-related issues and support timely decision-making and issue resolution.
• Supplier Management: Monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and quality performance to ensure alignment with business requirements and production needs.

EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE

• 5-8 years of experience in materials management, sourcing, or supply chain within the fashion accessories industry.
• Strong knowledge of leather and textile materials, including an understanding of material performance in product applications.
• Demonstrated experience in quality issue resolution, cross-functional coordination, and supplier management.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with overseas suppliers and factories.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables, and MS Word for reporting and data analysis.
• Flexible, adaptable, and willing to take on new challenges.
• Willingness to travel primarily within mainland China, with occasional travel to other locations in Asia.
