Description
Product Development
- Lead the mechanical design and development of adhesive dispensing systems and subsystems.
- Design and optimize sheet metal components, castings, machined parts, and product assemblies.
- Develop 3D models, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using SolidWorks & CAD tools.
- Support the complete product development lifecycle, including concept generation, prototyping, validation, and product launch.
- Collaborate closely with Electrical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Management teams to ensure robust product solutions.
- Drive continuous product improvements related to performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and customer experience.
Product Integration & Testing
- Coordinate mechanical system integration activities and support prototype assembly.
- Conduct design verification and validation testing.
- Analyze test results and implement design improvements.
- Support laboratory testing and product performance evaluations.
- Participate in design reviews and risk assessments.
Technical Support
- Provide technical support to Sales, Service, and Manufacturing teams.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in field and production environments.
- Perform root cause analysis and develop effective corrective actions.
- Support customer-specific applications and customized product solutions as required.
Compliance & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, and technical reports.
- Support CE certification activities and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Contribute to product safety reviews and engineering change processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and company procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in special engineering projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Support product cost-reduction, quality improvement, and value-engineering efforts.
- Assist in supplier technical discussions and component evaluations when required.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Experience designing industrial equipment, machinery, instruments, or automation systems is preferred.
- Experience with product development in a multinational company environment is advantageous.
- Experience working through all stages of the product development process, from concept to production.
Required
- Strong mechanical design and product development background.
- Proficiency with: SolidWorks & AutoCAD
- Experience designing: Sheet metal components and assemblies; Cast parts and housings; Mechanical systems and equipment structures.
- Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, and casting.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to read and prepare technical documentation in English.
Preferred
- Experience with adhesive dispensing systems, fluid handling equipment, or industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Experience supporting CE certification and product compliance activities.
- Experience using SAP C4C or other ERP/CRM systems.
- Understanding of finite element analysis (FEA) and mechanical simulation tools.
