Skills & Responsibilities
- Has a fundamental understanding of metal types and basic fabrication processes (e.g., cutting, measuring, and simple assembly).
- Set up and operate fabrication machinery and other metalworking equipment.
- Can safely operate basic hand tools (e.g., grinders, saws, manual cutters).
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and safety checks on equipment.
- Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and consistency, using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and resolve issues.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating metal fabrication machinery preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with measurement tools and quality inspection processes.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Basic math skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
