Trinseo is looking for an Energy Responsible Care Leader & Electrical Engineer at our location in Rheinmünster who will drive the development and implementation of sustainable, cost efficient energy strategies for our chemical park. The role combines strategic energy management, renewable energy projects, regulatory compliance, and electrical engineering expertise to ensure safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible operations. Key responsibilities include optimizing energy and utility networks, managing energy-related regulatory reporting, supporting energy procurement, and overseeing electrical safety, inspections, and explosion protection compliance across the sites.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainable, cost-efficient energy concepts for the chemical park
  • Lead strategic energy sourcing and support supplier selection and contract negotiations
  • Drive renewable energy projects and initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and increase self-sufficiency
  • Optimize the reliability and efficiency of energy and utility systems (electricity, steam, compressed air, nitrogen, etc.)
  • Manage energy compliance, audits, and certifications, including ISO 50001
  • Lead and coordinate the energy management team across the Rheinmünster and Eschborn sites
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, authorities, and utility providers
  • Ensure compliance with energy, environmental, electrical safety, and explosion protection regulations
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, subsidies, energy taxes, emissions reporting, and other energy-related obligations
  • Support plant projects, inspections, audits, and continuous improvement of electrical and energy infrastructure

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Energy Management, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial or operations environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skillsSolid understanding of energy markets, procurement strategies, and renewable energy technologies
  • Experience with ISO 50001 energy management systems and energy audits
  • Qualification as Responsible Electrical Engineer (VEFK) or willingness to obtain certification
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and relevant software applications
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across functions
  • Team-oriented mindset and ability to work effectively with internal and external partners
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are a strong advantage
