Position Summary
The Director of Staff Development is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing educational programs to ensure clinical staff maintain the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to provide high-quality patient care. This role plays a key part in regulatory compliance, onboarding, ongoing training, and workforce development.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct orientation programs for newly hired staff.
- Develop, implement, and monitor ongoing clinical education and in-service training programs.
- Ensure staff competency and compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
- Maintain accurate education, certification, and training records.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and best clinical practices.
- Collaborate with facility leadership to identify training needs and opportunities for staff development.
- Assist with survey preparation and regulatory compliance activities.
Qualifications
- Current California RN or LVN license in good standing.
- Current California DSD Certification required.
- Skilled in staff education, training, and competency development.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations preferred.
- Passion for developing others and promoting a culture of continuous learning.
