Job Summary

The Field Service Supervisor supports inspection operations within an assigned territory and works closely with Field Service Managers, contractor partners, clients, and internal team members. The role assists in monitoring inspection progress, coordinating vendor communications, reviewing operational reports, and supporting service delivery objectives.

While the position typically does not include direct supervisory authority, the Field Service Supervisor exercises operational influence through the coordination of work activities, management of vendor relationships, and support of service delivery initiatives. The role serves as a developmental leadership position designed to prepare employees for future responsibilities in territory and operations management.

Responsibilities

Operational Coordination

  • The Field Service Supervisor assists in the daily management of inspection inventory and workflow activities. This includes monitoring assignments throughout the inspection lifecycle, reviewing reports and operational dashboards, identifying assignments that may require additional attention, and helping facilitate timely completion of field services.

  • The position works closely with the Field Service Manager to support service-level objectives and ensure inspections continue progressing toward completion. The Field Service Supervisor is expected to recognize potential service issues, communicate concerns promptly, and assist in implementing solutions that support operational performance goals.

  • The role requires maintaining a high degree of attention to detail, ensuring information is accurately documented within company systems, and supporting the efficient movement of assignments through established operational processes.

Contractor Relations and Support

  • The Field Service Supervisor maintains regular communication with approved contractors and serves as a key point of contact for day-to-day operational matters. This includes assisting with assignment acceptance, status updates, milestone tracking, scheduling issues, and other activities necessary to support successful inspection completion.

  • The position helps foster productive working relationships with contractors by providing timely responses, resolving routine concerns, and ensuring vendors have the information necessary to perform assigned work. The Field Service Supervisor also assists with onboarding activities, orientation efforts, and communication initiatives designed to support contractor success and retention.

  • Through ongoing interaction with the contractor network, the FSS helps identify coverage gaps, performance concerns, and opportunities for operational improvement.

Customer Service and Communication

  • The Field Service Supervisor supports customer communication efforts by providing updates regarding inspection status, service delays, extension requests, and related operational matters. The position works to ensure requests from customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders are handled professionally and within established service expectations.

  • The role assists in addressing routine customer concerns and escalates more complex issues to the Field Service Manager when appropriate. Maintaining positive customer experiences through responsiveness, professionalism, and effective communication is an important aspect of the position.

  • The Field Service Supervisor is expected to represent the organization in a professional manner and contribute to the development of strong relationships with clients and business partners.

Territory Support and Performance Monitoring

  • The Field Service Supervisor assists in evaluating territory performance and monitoring operational trends. Through review of reports and performance metrics, the position helps identify assignments requiring intervention, geographic areas with limited contractor availability, and operational challenges that may impact service delivery.

  • The role contributes to territory improvement efforts by sharing observations, recommending solutions, and supporting initiatives designed to improve coverage, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The position develops a strong understanding of territory dynamics and operational planning processes while supporting the broader objectives of the Operations Department

Compliance and Quality Support

  • The Field Service Supervisor helps ensure operational activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, client requirements, and established quality standards. The role supports quality assurance efforts by monitoring assignment progress, identifying potential issues, and assisting with corrective actions when needed.

  • The position promotes consistency, accountability, and attention to detail throughout daily operations. The Field Service Supervisor is expected to promptly communicate concerns involving compliance, quality, customer service, or operational risk to appropriate leadership personnel.

Key Business Outcomes

  • The Field Service Supervisor is accountable for supporting the successful execution of operational activities within their assigned territory. Success is measured by the employee's ability to maintain organized workflows, support contractor engagement, provide quality customer service, and contribute to operational performance objectives.

  • Expected outcomes include timely assignment progression, effective communication with contractors and clients, strong attention to detail, accurate system documentation, and proactive identification of operational concerns. The position should consistently contribute to a positive customer experience and support the organization's commitment to service excellence.

  • As an entry-level leadership role, the position is also expected to demonstrate continuous learning, professional growth, and increasing operational proficiency over time.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational and communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Individuals with experience working in deadline-driven environments and managing multiple tasks simultaneously will be particularly successful in this role.

  • This position is designed to provide a foundation for future operational leadership opportunities and is well suited for individuals seeking long-term career growth within the organization.

Education and Experience

  • An Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.

  • Candidates should possess experience in customer service, administrative support, field operations, insurance services, vendor coordination, scheduling, project coordination, or related business functions.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
