Inside the Role
As Regional General Manager (RGM) of Northeast Region for On-Highway Sales, you will have an opportunity to lead an incredible team of On-Highway District Managers with the goal of strengthening DTNA’s current market leadership position. This executive leadership role has overall accountability for profitable revenue growth, market share performance, customer satisfaction, dealer network effectiveness, and execution of the company's strategic objectives throughout the region. The RGM serves as the senior company representative for customers, dealers, and key industry stakeholders, fostering strong executive-level relationships and ensuring alignment between customer needs and organizational priorities. This leader develops and executes regional business strategies, drives operational excellence, and partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Strategy, Finance, Service, and Network Development teams to accelerate growth and enhance competitive positioning. The successful candidate is a proven business leader with exceptional commercial acumen, strong executive presence, and a track record of delivering sustainable growth in complex and highly competitive markets. What You Drive at DTNA
- Lead DTNA’s Northeast Region On-Highway Sales organization, develop and execute regional growth strategies that drive market share, revenue, profitability, and customer success.
- Direct DTNA’s sales activities across the Northeast region, leveraging strong dealer and customer relationships to identify opportunities, influence purchasing decisions, and secure strategic business.
- Coach, develop, and motivate a high-performing team of District Sales Managers while providing leadership, training, and support to dealer principals, sales managers, and dealership personnel.
- Partner with dealers and key customers to develop business plans, improve sales effectiveness, and drive sustainable growth across diverse market segments.
- Build executive-level relationships with fleets, dealer principals, and VP of Sales, while understanding customers’ business models and operational challenges.
- Lead the pricing strategy, deal structuring, concession and discount management, and margin optimization of the On-Highway Northeast Region
- Analyze regional performance metrics, dealer operations, and market trends to identify opportunities, address business challenges, and implement strategic improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, marketing, product strategy, and operations teams to develop solutions that enhance customer value and support DTNA’s growth objectives.
- Monitor industry dynamics, competitive activity, regulatory developments, and economic trends to identify emerging opportunities and strengthen DTNA’s market position.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, environmental requirements, and Daimler Truck's Conduct & Integrity principles while maintaining operational excellence across the region.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- BS/BA +10 years of relevant experience
- At least 4 years of previously demonstrated experience in leadership required
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales, market share, and profitability objectives
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior executives, customer leadership teams, and dealer principals
- Ability to travel (up to 50% or as required) to customers, dealers, and company locations.
- Experience developing and executing strategic account plans and sales growth initiatives.
- Excellent financial and business acumen, including the ability to analyze profitability, ROI, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Understanding and experience with the Dealer Reservation System (DRS) and Retail Prospect Management (RPM) tool.
- Understanding and experience with the Pricing Guideline Tools from New Truck Pricing.
- Experience managing fleet accounts, dealer networks, or strategic customer relationships is preferred.
