Purpose of the role:
The Electrical Draughtsman is responsible for producing and maintaining electrical and instrumentation drawings to support engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning activities. The role works closely with the ECI engineering team to ensure drawings are accurate, compliant with applicable standards, and delivered within project timelines.

This is an office-based position with flexible working hours. Core office hours are between 09:00 and 15:00, with hybrid working arrangements considered subject to project requirements and management approval.

The Electrical Draughtsman is responsible for producing and maintaining electrical and instrumentation drawings to support engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning activities. The role works closely with the ECI engineering team to ensure drawings are accurate, compliant with applicable standards, and delivered within project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties
- Produce and maintain electrical and instrumentation drawings based on engineering requirements.
- Prepare and update single line diagrams, schematics, panel general arrangements, panel layouts, field wiring diagrams, cable schedules and other project documentation.
- Incorporate manufacturing and commissioning red-line mark-ups into final as-built drawings.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision histories and project documentation.
- Ensure drawings comply with company standards, client requirements and applicable IEC and NEMA standards.
- Support engineers, the panel workshop and vendors by providing accurate drawing information.
- Maintain and improve the ECI department's drafting standards, templates, title blocks, symbol libraries and drawing numbering system.
- Plan and manage personal workload to meet project deadlines.
- Prioritise drafting activities across multiple projects.
- Resolve routine drafting issues and refer technical design queries to the responsible engineer.
- Recommend improvements to drafting processes and standards.
Qualifications and experience
- Qualification in Electrical Draughting, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum five years' experience in electrical drafting within an industrial environment.
- Sound knowledge of electrical drawings, drafting practices and applicable IEC and NEMA standards.
- AutoCAD (AutoCAD Electrical advantageous)
