Job Description

As a Lead OT Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, validation and testing of network and security infrastructure within major UK and worldwide critical infrastructure, Marine and Naval projects. These efforts shall protect industrial and offshore systems from current and emerging threats. You shall be familiar and comfortable with industrial security standards, including adhering to ISA/IEC 62443 standards, NIST, Marine E27, and NCSC CAF. This position also requires strong hands-on experience with configuring and hardening network switches and firewalls.

In this role you will:

  • Guide the wider business and Automation department on implementing internally developed Cyber Security solutions.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation plans to protect critical OT assets for new and existing customers.
  • Design project specific system architecture models bespoke to each customers unique needs and requirements, following company baseline requirements.
  • Configure and harden complex industrial network systems, configure them for redundancy and minimise downtime of critical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as ISA/IEC 62443, NIST800 SP, etc.
  • Stay current with the latest Cyber Security trends, threats, and technologies to continually shape the organisation's OT security posture.
  • Provide Cyber Security advice and assistance to the wider engineering and project teams.
  • Own production of technical documentation for system architecture, IP design and Cyber Security test procedures.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members to achieve individual and team goals.

We are looking for a committed and talented individual with:

  • Degree level qualification in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering or a related field (or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Proven experience in Cyber Security within an OT environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of GE Vernova Cyber Security products; including ICSArmor, ICS SMS, Visor and our wide portfolio of Automation products.
  • Strong understanding of Cyber Security frameworks and standards, such as IEC62443, NIST, CIS and others.
  • Proactively working alongside the Development team and Product Management teams to define the business need for technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the wider GE Vernova supply chain, to ensure that our 3rd party solutions can meet our customers’ growing Cyber Security needs.

What will make you stand out:

  • Experience working with antivirus, encryption and endpoint security tools.
  • Ability to work concurrently with multiple customers on different initiatives.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple competing tasks.
  • Proven experience with GE Vernova’s ICSArmor and security suite.
  • Familiar with GE Vernova’s Visor (VCB) remote connection and historian products.
  • Experience with deploying network monitoring systems, such as NOZOMI.
  • Familiar with configuring GE Vernova HMI systems.
  • Experience with designing and risk-assessing Marine, Naval and Industry system architectures against GE Vernova’s minimum security requirements.
  • Relevant certifications such as ISA/IEC 62443 certifications, CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA N+, etc.
