Renishaw is seeking a Quality Engineer to support our Assembly Operations and help drive quality excellence across our manufacturing environment.
This varied role offers a balance of hands-on shop floor activity and office-based quality engineering work. Working closely with Production, Production Management, Procurement, Engineering, and Supplier Quality teams, you will play a key role in maintaining product quality, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the ongoing development of our Quality Management System.

Responsibilities
Conduct in-process, patrol, and pre-shipment audits to ensure products consistently meet quality standards and customer expectations.
Perform dimensional and visual inspection of components and assemblies using a range of measuring and inspection equipment.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards to verify product conformity.
Support the investigation, containment, and resolution of quality issues through structured problem-solving techniques.
Analyse quality data and performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Participate in quality audits across assembly operations and support corrective and preventive action activities.
Work closely with the Supplier Quality team to manage non-conforming material and supplier-related quality issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve day-to-day production quality challenges.
Develop, maintain, and improve procedures and documentation within the Quality Management System (QMS).
Create and deliver quality-related training and awareness sessions.
Contribute to quality reporting and continuous improvement projects across the business.
Support the development and implementation of best practices to improve manufacturing and assembly processes.
Key requirements
HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in an engineering or technical discipline.
Experience applying quality assurance principles, tools, and techniques within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a structured approach to root cause analysis.
Experience using quality methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
Understanding of statistical analysis techniques and their practical application.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar Quality Management System standards.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
Good IT skills, including the ability to analyse data and produce reports.
Excellent attention to detail and a logical approach to technical challenges.
Desirable requirements
Experience within precision engineering, manufacturing, or assembly environments.
Internal auditing experience.
Familiarity with dimensional inspection equipment and measurement techniques.
Experience creating procedures, work instructions, or quality documentation.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

You will be a proactive and motivated individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for quality and continuous improvement. Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, you'll be able to investigate problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
