Position Summary:

Husky Health Center at the University of Washington has an excellent opportunity for a Physical Therapist 2 to join our growing clinical staff.

About this Opportunity:

Reporting to the Physical Therapy Supervisor, this position will work closely with other Physical Therapists, Sports Medicine physicians, and other clinical team members to provide physical therapy for musculoskeletal conditions.

This is a 100% FTE, 10-12-month onsite position

Salary range - $8,556 - $12,611

Key Responsibilities:

Physical Therapy Patient Care – 95%

  • Perform evaluations of patients with straightforward to complex diagnoses; review charts, choose appropriate evaluation measures and develop treatment plans independently

  • Confer with providers and carry out provider recommendations regarding patient treatment and progress; discuss and recommend interventions based on own evaluation

  • Provide physical therapy; plan and implement treatment programs which may include the use of physical agents, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and activity

  • May perform specialized treatments with specific equipment and training

  • Assess and reassess patient status; update treatment plan and goals of care plan

  • Instruct patients or caregivers in therapeutic home exercise program (HEP) and provide written and visual HEP instructions

  • Complete initial evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, home programs, coding and billing, and authorization forms according to UW Medicine guidelines and standard of care

  • Consult with clinical team members regarding physical therapy programs

  • Instruct other team members in patient-specific therapy techniques

Other Clinical Work – 5%

  • Attend and participate in Physical Therapy team meetings and HHC meetings

  • Participate in peer review, quality improvement, and risk management programs

  • May supervise or direct the work of others, including physical therapy assistants and student employees

  • May supervise and teach physical therapy students

  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Washington State license to practice as a Physical Therapist

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized school of Physical Therapy, or completion of a Physical Therapy program and one year of experience

  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

  • Applicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Manager.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to secure and maintain credentialing, privileging, and appointment to the Medical Staff at UW Medicine

  • Ability to work with a diverse student and patient population

  • Skill and experience working with competitive and recreational athletes

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ experience working as a physical therapist

  • Skill and experience in shock wave therapy

  • Skill and experience in vestibular therapy

Typical Working Conditions:

Husky Health staff members are considered essential employees and are expected to report to work during UW closures for severe weather, natural disaster, or other emergency conditions.

Work hours:  Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Work location: Seattle Campus

Husky Health Center, on the UW Seattle Campus in the Division of Student Life, is an AAAHC-accredited outpatient facility providing high quality health care to a primarily young adult population. As a student-focused clinical unit within the Division of Student Life, we are committed to supporting the health, well-being, and success of UW’s student population. We provide comprehensive, full-spectrum primary and preventive care in over 40,000 patient encounters annually. Our services include Primary and Same Day Care, Physical Therapy, Sports Medicine, OB/GYN and Travel Medicine. We are co-located with an on-site pharmacy and a branch of the UW Medicine Laboratory, and we work collaboratively with campus partners like the UW Counseling Center and Student Life’s health promotion and prevention services to provide holistic support that helps students thrive throughout their Husky experience.

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$102,672.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$151,332.00 annual
