Manager, Distribution Operations

Graco manufactures and markets premium equipment to move, measure, control, dispense and spray a wide variety of fluid and powder materials. What does that mean? The Manager, Distribution Operations oversees technical assistance, customer service, operations, facilities, and the scheduling of training center activities. This position supervises and coordinates activities to purchase inventory, control inventory, and pick, pack, and ship inventory to be sold to distributors and end users. The manager also partners with the local country office, Graco Inc., and local legal counsel to coordinate legal and regulatory activities. 

What You Will Do at Graco  

Operations and Logistics 

• Implement an effective logistics program that minimizes costs while maintaining efficient service levels. 

• Provide daily supervision and analysis to support the company’s domestic and international inbound and outbound logistics, including service provider management and trade compliance. 

• Supervise the estimation, requisition, and inspection of materials received by Graco, as well as the entire shipping and receiving process. 

• Manage fleet and transportation programs for all Brazil sales and operations staff. 

Customer, Training, and Commercial Support 

• Supervise the technical assistance and warranty processes, and assist with coordinating and scheduling training center activities. 

• Confer with other SCA supervisors and managers to coordinate training activities, customer events, promotions, and other sales activities. 

• Work directly with Graco sales and marketing teams to implement price increases and promotions and carry out commercial strategies. 

• Report training center, customer service, and operations activities through the use of KPIs. 

Systems, Compliance, and Reporting 

• Work closely with finance operations in Brazil to maintain accurate reporting. 

• Manage the local ERP system, along with Graco’s customer and operational interfaces, including Partner Portal, SIS, and Oracle. 

• Work with the Jundiai, Brazil office to coordinate all legal activities with Graco Inc. and local legal councils. 

• Interpret, translate, and explain company policies to employees, and enforce ethics and legal and safety regulations. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Team Leadership  

• Lead, mentor, manage, and staff a Logistics team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and promoting a culture of excellence.   

• Drive team performance by setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and facilitating professional growth opportunities.   

• Supervise employees in the operations department, including interpreting and explaining specifications, blueprints, and job orders while assigning work activities. 

• Establish, manage, and be accountable for the annual Logistics budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with organizational strategic objectives.   

What You Will Bring to Graco  

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related field.  

• 7+ years of logistics, supply chain, operations, distribution, transportation, project management or related experience.  

• 2+ years of experience leading teams.  

• Proficiency with computers and inventory management programs, with the ability to operate an ERP system. 

• Knowledge of the Microsoft software suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Teams. 

• Ability to operate material-handling equipment and basic skills with hand tools and/or light power tools. 

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong leadership abilities. 

• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English with all levels of the organization, freight companies, and local vendors. English fluency is required. 

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where most items are standardized. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
