Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is opening a new 12,000-square-foot specialty and emergency hospital in Dunwoody, Georgia, and we're building our Diagnostic Imaging team now.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Technician, Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), or highly skilled Veterinary Assistant to work at the intersection of diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, emergency medicine, and specialty care.
You'll support patients across MRI, CT, digital radiography, and fluoroscopy, working alongside specialists in Radiology, Neurology, Surgery, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Emergency and Critical Care.

Candidates with a strong background in Diagnostic Imaging, specialty medicine, anesthesia support, radiology, ultrasound, or advanced patient care may qualify for a sign-on bonus based on credentialing, experience, and technical skillset:
- $6,000 Sign-On Bonus available for Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT/RVT/CVT) with strong Diagnostic Imaging, Specialty, or advanced technical experience
- $1,000 Sign-On Bonus available for experienced non-licensed Veterinary Technicians or Veterinary Assistants with a strong background supporting Diagnostic Imaging, radiology, ultrasound, anesthesia, or specialty patient care
Sign-on bonus eligibility is determined based on relevant specialty experience and qualifications and is not available to all applicants.
What You'll Do
As a Diagnostic Imaging Technician, you'll help move complex cases from patient preparation through imaging, anesthesia, recovery, and continued care.
- Prepare, position, and monitor patients for advanced diagnostic imaging
- Support MRI, CT, digital radiography, and fluoroscopy procedures
- Ensure accurate patient positioning and imaging preparation
- Maintain patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures
- Support imaging workflows and maintain accurate medical records
- Follow radiation safety protocols and hospital imaging standards
- Collaborate with radiologists and specialty clinicians on complex referral cases
Many specialty imaging patients require general anesthesia or advanced sedation support.
You'll assist with:
- Patient preparation and anesthesia induction
- Intubation and airway management
- Anesthesia monitoring and recovery
- ECG monitoring
- Capnography
- Pulse oximetry
- NIBP/IBP monitoring
- Temperature monitoring
- Recognizing and communicating changes in patient status
Diagnostic imaging supports nearly every service within our hospital. You'll work closely with:
- Radiology
- Neurology
- Surgery and Anesthesia
- Cardiology
- Internal Medicine
- Oncology
- Emergency and Critical Care
You may support imaging for critical patients, hospitalized patients, emergency cases, surgical patients, and complex specialty referrals.
Who We’re Looking For
We're Looking For Experienced Veterinary Professionals
This is not an entry-level veterinary position.
We're looking for technicians and veterinary assistants who already have a strong foundation in veterinary nursing and are ready to apply those skills in a specialty environment.
- 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience
- Strong veterinary nursing and patient-care skills
- Confidence with:
- Venipuncture
- IV catheter placement
- Laboratory diagnostics
- Hospitalized patient care
- Patient monitoring
- Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced specialty and emergency environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple patient needs
- Effective communication with veterinarians, specialists, technicians, assistants, and clients
Specialty Experience We Value
Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:
