About the Role

The Macquarie University Student Lifecycle team is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join a pool of casual staff supporting a range of student administration processes. These opportunities are particularly suited to individuals available during peak operational periods from May to August and November to March.


Working as part of the Student Lifecycle team, you will provide administrative support across a variety of student processes, helping ensure student requests are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to quickly learn and apply information across multiple systems and resources.

 

Key Responsibilities 

The Future Students Enquiries Representative is a front-line service role providing accurate, timely, and personalised information to prospective international students.

 

What will you do?

  • Assist the Manager and Student Lifecycle team with administrative processes across the student lifecycle.
  • Understand and apply relevant processes, systems, templates, procedures and resources to action student requests.
  • Perform data entry and update student records across Macquarie University systems, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
  • Receive and respond to student enquiries in line with established guidelines and templates, escalating or triaging enquiries where appropriate.
  • Review and verify information across university systems and external platforms, following up with students as required.
  • Conduct initial assessments of student enquiries and cases against predetermined criteria.
  • Request additional information from students where required to progress enquiries and cases to the next stage.
  • Support team operations through administrative and process-related tasks as required.

Selection Criteria

  • Availability to work on campus during the University's peak periods of May to August and December to March.
  • Availability to attend training sessions scheduled for November 2026.
  • Previous experience in a customer service environment, either face-to-face and/or through digital communication channels.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple systems and processes.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to consistently undertake detailed and repetitive tasks with accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. 

 

Desirable 

  • Experience working in a higher education or student administration environment.
  • Experience using student administration systems or databases.
  • Familiarity with university policies, procedures and student lifecycle processes.
