LC State invites applications for the position of Events & Conferences Coordinator.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $50,000 - $55,000
Degree Required: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
Required Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience in event services, conference management, hospitality, marketing, higher education administration, or a related field;
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Experience supervising or leading staff or teams;
- Experience managing budgets, contracts, and financial transactions;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business software systems;
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Higher Education Administration, Business, Communications, Hospitality Management, or a related field;
- Five (5) years' experience working in higher education event services, conference management, or hospitality operations;
- Knowledge of facility scheduling systems, CRM platforms, and event management technology;
- Experience developing marketing strategies and promotional campaigns;
- Experience supervising staff and implementing operational policies and procedures;
- Strong understanding of marketing and event/program promotion; and
- Knowledge of risk management and event compliance practices.
Responsibilities:
The Events & Conferences Coordinator oversees the operations, facilities, and services of LC State's Events & Conferences program, including the Williams Conference Center (WCC). This position manages event scheduling and facility reservations through 25Live, supervises the event set-up crew, coordinates maintenance and repairs, and ensures a high-quality experience for both internal and external clients. The position also oversees budgets, financial reporting, billing and collections, facility-use processes, compliance requirements, and the annual review of reservable campus spaces and associated fees.
The Coordinator will develop and implement business and marketing strategies to expand outside use of LC State facilities and promote Events & Conferences services to campus and community partners through in-person outreach, promotional materials, social media, and conferences. The position provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to staff; identifies opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, and policies; and makes recommendations for facility upgrades and modifications. Evening and weekend work, as well as occasional in- and out-of-state travel, may be required. Additional responsibilities include supporting student recruitment and retention initiatives and performing other duties as assigned.
