About this role
Dow is hiring an Associate Accounting Specialist role in Taiwan. As a member of the Controller’s Financial & Statutory Accounting organization, this role will perform as the Entity Accounting Leader (“EAL” hereafter) for one legal entity.

The main job tasks and responsibilities of this role are related to data analysis, successful candidate should:

  • Has a broad understanding and able to apply quantitative methods in financial data analysis
  • Has a working knowledge to translate large data sets into usable information
  • Performs exploratory data analysis and develops models to identify trends and opportunities
  • Uses graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data, creates presentations for recommendations and findings


Responsibilities

The responsibilities of an EAL covers overall data integrity of the subsidiary’s financial statements in both US GAAP and PRC GAAP, cross functional work process coordination, account reconciliation, as well as acting as the focal point for tax operation, audits, schedules, etc. 

  • Perform monthly closing activities within statutory reporting timeline
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Ensure the integrity of the financial statement for the legal entity
  • Interface with external auditors.
  • Support for external filing and reporting to government authorities, such as Tax Bureau, Finance Bureau, Statistic Bureau
  • Monitor and evaluate internal controls and ensure appropriate remediation of control gaps.
  • Adhoc projects assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-year finance working experience in a multinational corporation, accounting firm, or equivalent environment
  • Good communication in spoken and written English
  • Proficiency in tax regulations and related professional experience are advantageous.

Your skills

  • Practical experience in accounting software such as SAP, advanced skills with Excel (i.e., analytics, pivot tables). Experience with tools to drive finance automation is a plus
  • Has a broad understanding and is able to apply quantitative methods in financial data analysis, has knowledge to translate large data sets into usable information
  • Can take reasonable pressure and is a good team player, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Manufacturing GL accounting experience is preferred

Additional Notes

  • This role is based in Taiwan; no relocation support will be provided.
