This is a hands-on, full-stack engineering role where you will help solve complex business and technical challenges. You will contribute across the full product lifecycle, from design and development through deployment and enhancement, working both independently and in close collaboration with cross-functional partners.
In this role, you will work with colleagues across technology and the business, including portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, traders, and senior stakeholders. We are looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and motivated to learn, with a strong interest in building high-quality solutions that make an impact.
At T. Rowe Price, we value diverse perspectives, inclusive teamwork, and continuous development. We encourage candidates to apply even if their experience does not align perfectly with every qualification listed, particularly if they bring transferable skills, strong learning agility, and a passion for technology.

- A client-focused mindset, with an emphasis on delivering practical, high-value solutions iteratively
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across business and technology teams
- An interest in modern software engineering practices, including agile development, continuous delivery, code review, testing, and refactoring
- Enthusiasm for technology and problem-solving, demonstrated through professional experience, academic work, personal projects, or other learning opportunities
- A willingness to share knowledge, support teammates, and contribute to an inclusive and collaborative team environment
Qualifications
Required:
- A strong academic record and a BS or MS degree in a field with meaningful mathematical and computing content, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
- Experience with modern frameworks and development tools such as Pandas, React, Node.js, and Spring Boot
- Experience with modern cloud technologies, including containerization and serverless architectures
- A quality-focused approach to software development, including experience with testing practices and tools such as TDD, BDD, Cucumber, and Cypress
- Experience with one or more database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Redshift
Preferred:
- Experience with web-based development and visualization technologies used to represent large and complex datasets and relationships
- Knowledge of mathematical concepts relevant to the role, such as statistics, time-series analysis, asset pricing theory, or optimization algorithms
- Familiarity with algorithms and data structures
- Understanding of Multi-Asset investment strategies, financial instruments, derivatives, and capital markets
- Experience partnering with front office business clients, such as Portfolio Managers, Quants, and Traders
- Hands-on experience building AI-enabled applications, intelligent workflows, or agentic systems using modern LLMs and AI development frameworks.
- Practical experience with modern AI engineering patterns such as agent orchestration, tool/function calling, retrieval-based systems, prompt and context engineering, structured outputs, evaluation, observability, or guardrails.
- Experience taking AI-enabled systems beyond prototypes toward production, including testing, monitoring, reliability, security, and operational considerations.
