Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Telecom Technician with a strong background in Oil & Gas projects, both onshore and offshore. The ideal candidate must have hands-on expertise in installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining a wide range of telecom and ELV systems. Offshore experience is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecom systems including:
- Structured Cabling Systems (Cat6/Cat6A/FTTH)
- Fiber Optic Communication Systems (splicing, OTDR testing, termination)
- TETRA Radio Systems
- VHF/UHF Radios
- CCTV Surveillance Systems
- Access Control Systems (ACS)
- PAGA System
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities as per Oil & Gas standards.
- Support commissioning teams during project handover and SAT/FAT procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards during all site activities.
- Prepare technical reports, update work logs, and coordinate with supervisors/engineers.
- Provide support during shutdowns, offshore rotations, and emergency call-outs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical / Telecommunications).
- Minimum 5–7 years' experience in Oil & Gas telecom maintenance and installation.
- Mandatory offshore experience with valid offshore certificates (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
- Strong knowledge of network cabling standards and fiber optic systems.
- Hands-on skills in radio communication systems – TETRA, VHF, UHF.
- Experience in CCTV and Access Control installation and configuration.
Preferred Certifications
- Fiber Optic splicing/testing certification.
- CCTV/ACS vendor certifications.
- Radio communication system training (TETRA/VHF/UHF).
- Safety certifications (H2S, PTW, First Aid).
