PREMIUM EXPO / LEAD FOOD RUNNER

Job Title: Premium Expo / Lead Food Runner
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: Suites Supervisor & Premium Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time Seasonal

SUMMARY

The Premium Expo / Lead Food Runner is responsible for coordinating the timely and accurate delivery of food orders to premium suites while serving as the primary liaison between the kitchen and suite service teams. This position oversees and directs Food Runners, ensures food quality and presentation standards are met, manages order flow from production to delivery, and supports exceptional guest experiences through effective communication and leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, organize, and distribute food orders from the kitchen to Premium Suites and service locations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Suite Attendants, Food Runners, Supervisors, and Kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and clear communication.
  • Verify order accuracy, quality, presentation, and completeness before food leaves the kitchen.
  • Coordinate and direct Food Runners to ensure timely and accurate delivery of all food orders.
  • Monitor ticket times and prioritize orders to maintain service standards and guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate menu changes, special requests, dietary restrictions, and order modifications between suites and the kitchen team.
  • Assist in resolving service issues, missing items, and guest concerns related to food delivery.
  • Ensure all food is delivered according to suite orders and guest specifications.
  • Support Suite Attendants with replenishing food, beverages, supplies, and service items throughout events.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of expo stations, service corridors, pantries, and staging areas.
  • Conduct pre-event setup and post-event breakdown of service areas as needed.
  • Train, mentor, and provide guidance to Food Runners on service standards, safety procedures, and operational expectations.
  • Monitor Food Runner performance and communicate staffing or service concerns to management.
  • Follow all company policies, food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous food service, catering, hospitality, or premium dining experience preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Food Runner, Expo, Banquet Captain, or similar leadership role preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to guest service excellence.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and coordinate team members during events.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and scheduled event days.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One (1) year of experience in food service, banquet operations, catering, or hospitality required.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid TABC Certificate.
  • Must possess a valid Food Handler Certification.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of food service operations and kitchen-to-service coordination.
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Ability to carry service trays and transport food safely.
  • Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the duration of an event.
  • Must be able to work extended hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays as business demands require.
