Raytheon is seeking a Production Test Capacity Leader to join the Capacity Growth Office (CGO) Engineering organization. This leader will create, document, and implement an integrated strategy for Production Test on Critical Munitions Programs in support of increased munitions quantities in accelerated timeframes. These timeframes are inside of Raytheon’s demonstrated performance, at markedly lower price per unit costs.

This strategy will be developed and executed in close collaboration with operations, supply chain, quality, and the broader Raytheon (and RTX) engineering organization.  It will include test optimization, test reduction by shifting from performance to acceptance testing, common testing methods and equipment, and production test equipment projects.

Production Testing is an integral part of the operations environment and part of a broader suite of actions the CGO is taking to increase capacity.  The Production Test Capacity Leader will partner in the execution of test strategies across engineering, manufacturing, and quality functions.  The Leader will be heavily engaged with the factory and program teams to understand the production landscape and how the suite of testing supports the manufacturing output to the rate the customers need.  This work is critical to increasing factory throughput and enabling capacity growth across Raytheon’s production lines.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with Raytheon and US Government subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify, define, and deploy and integrated strategy with an attendant integrated master schedule to reduce test cycle time across the Critical Munitions Programs

  • Create strategies and change management plans to overhaul the testing environment for munitions products, migrating from a performance testing paradigm to an acceptance testing methodology

  • Lead key, strategic Test Equipment Hardware and Integration projects with the goal of accelerated cut-in to the assembly line with predictable execution utilizing the defined elements, methodologies, and processes defined/deployed in partnership with the stakeholders.

  • Drive predictable execution and document key process elements and best practices for the broader Raytheon to use in the future execution of accelerated test equipment projects

  • Drive timely, focused supplier support to unlock critical supply-based capability and capacity to enable execution of the suite of test equipment projects

  • Partner with the External Capacity CPT to identify, scope, plan, staff, and execute test optimization and test reduction projects to enhance supplier capability, rate, and resiliency in support of critical munitions programs

  • Ensure the test optimization plans, together with test reduction, close with the takt requirements within each program

  • Understand program and CGO capacity build plans and ensuring alignment across Production Test Reduction efforts

  • Ensure production test elements are in alignment with new factory and assembly line designs, implementations, and processes

Responsibilities to Anticipate

  • Development and execution of an Integrated Critical Munitions Programs Production Test Reduction plan

  • Integrate Common Test Methods into Critical Munitions Program Test Equipment plans

  • Deliver required Test Equipment for the Critical Munitions Programs on schedule and within the budget

  • Drive reduction in Production Test time aligned with production takt time in support of Critical Munitions Programs ramps through test optimization and test reduction vis acceptance testing methodologies

  • Create and implement process improvements in test optimization, test reduction, and common test, incorporating enhancements into Raytheon-wide engineering and program management operating documents
