Summary of Job Duties:
The Plastic Surgery Practice Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational and administrative management of the UAMS Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery services. This position works closely with physicians, clinical staff, and departments across UAMS to ensure efficient operations, exceptional patient service, effective revenue cycle management, and continued growth of the practice.The Practice Manager serves as a subject matter expert for practice operations and cosmetic surgery workflows and works collaboratively with internal departments and external vendors to optimize efficiency, financial performance, patient access, and quality of service. The position also supports practice development through financial analysis, marketing, community outreach, patient experience initiatives, and identification of opportunities for growth.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Business, Finance or related field PLUS five (5) years of experience in a hospital, outpatient healthcare facility, or community clinic setting with increasing responsibility OR High School Diploma/GED PLUS nine (9) years of experience in a hospital, outpatient healthcare facility, or community clinic setting with increasing responsibility.
Demonstrated experience with financial data collection, reporting, analysis, and interpretation.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, administrative departments, and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a surgical specialty or physician practice.
Experience developing and delivering professional presentations.
Experience with cosmetic, aesthetic, or cash-pay healthcare services.
Experience with healthcare revenue cycle management and financial operations.

Responsibilities:
Serves as the subject matter expert for the daily operations of the Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery practices. Collaborates with departments across UAMS and external vendors to ensure effective processes, optimize efficiency and revenue, and identify opportunities for cost containment.
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the services, procedures, and products offered by Plastic Surgery providers. Provides patients with appropriate information regarding services and assists with directing patients to the appropriate provider and scheduling pathway.
Manages financial workflows associated with cosmetic surgery services, including estimates, payments, cash posting, charge posting, account reconciliation, and adjudication. Ensures compliance with established workflows and procedures for cosmetic and cash-pay services.
Develops, analyzes, and monitors monthly financial reports to evaluate the financial performance and viability of the service. Presents financial and operational data to physicians and leadership and provides recommendations based on findings.
Coordinates revenue cycle activities across multiple departments and serves as a liaison to ensure timely and accurate processing of charges, payments, and accounts.
Maintains and updates customized cosmetic surgery charge information and workflows to support accurate pricing, charging, and financial reporting.
Reviews new patient referrals and inquiries to ensure appropriate and timely scheduling. Optimizes clinic and surgical schedules to maximize provider capacity, patient access, and operational efficiency.
Ensures surgical case requests are entered accurately and that patients are scheduled using appropriate workflows for cosmetic and reconstructive services.
Develops, implements, and monitors processes designed to improve patient access, scheduling efficiency, and utilization of available clinic and surgical capacity.
Coordinates and monitors initiatives designed to reduce patient no-shows and improve appointment completion rates.
Ensures clinic staff are appropriately trained on specialized Plastic Surgery and cosmetic surgery workflows. Develops and delivers training materials and educational resources as needed.
Identifies operational issues and develops recommendations for process improvement. Works collaboratively with physicians, staff, and appropriate departments to implement solutions.
Serves as a liaison with building management and other support services to address facility, space, equipment, and building-related issues affecting practice operations.
Plans and coordinates community outreach, educational programs, and marketing events in collaboration with Plastic Surgery providers and UAMS Marketing.
Develops and delivers professional presentations and educational materials related to Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery services.
Coordinates marketing activities for the practice, including collection and analysis of market data, maintenance of marketing materials, management of social media content, and coordination of marketing campaigns with the UAMS Marketing Department.
Identifies opportunities to enhance the visibility, accessibility, and growth of Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery services.
Maintains and analyzes data related to patient inquiries, consultations, treatment acceptance, procedures, and services. Develops monthly reports and identifies trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Monitors patient satisfaction results and identifies opportunities to improve the patient experience, service delivery, and overall practice performance.
Develops and presents monthly financial, operational, and practice performance reports to physicians and service line leadership.
Works collaboratively with providers to identify opportunities for service expansion, improved patient access, increased utilization, and practice growth.
May provide operational support to other surgical specialty practices as needed.
Participates in departmental and organizational initiatives related to practice operations, financial performance, patient experience, and service development.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the appropriate leader or physician.
