Description
The Engineer, with a focus on electrical systems and automation, is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of production equipment, automated systems, tooling, and manufacturing processes. An Electrical Engineering background is preferred; however, candidates with Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering backgrounds and relevant experience in automation, controls, or manufacturing will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support production equipment, automation, fixtures, and tooling.
- Develop manufacturing processes and production controls for new and existing products.
- Troubleshoot and improve electrical, mechanical, controls, software, and process-related issues.
- Develop and support manufacturing applications and databases using C, C#, SQL Server, and MySQL.
- Develop electrical/electronic designs using Altium Designer.
- Specify, install, set up, and commission new or modified production equipment.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, and Design Engineering to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Develop operating procedures and provide technical training as required.
- Manage assigned engineering projects from concept through implementation.
- Drive continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and their application to manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Experience with manufacturing equipment, automation, controls, fixtures, tooling, and process development.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills involving electrical, mechanical, controls, software, and manufacturing processes.
- Programming experience with C and/or C#.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or MySQL.
- Experience with Altium Designer and familiarity with Creo Parametric.
- Working knowledge of industrial controls, sensors, motors, drives, and automated equipment.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes and assembly equipment
- Ability to independently develop practical and cost-effective solutions to manufacturing problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
