Job Summary:
Gosincro, Inc. is seeking a skilled, reliable, and self-motivated HR Generalist to lead day-to-day human resources functions for our Glendale Heights, Illinois facility. Reporting directly to the Head of HR based at our California headquarters, this on-site role is ideal for a confident HR professional who thrives in an independent environment, takes pride in thorough follow-through, and excels at being the primary HR point of contact for our local team.
Working closely with local leadership and remote HR management, you will manage the full employee lifecycle, ensure smooth daily HR operations, and maintain compliance with Illinois employment standards. If you are a proactive problem-solver who enjoys owning your workspace, managing deadlines independently, and driving positive workplace culture, we would love to connect with you.
Key Expectations:
- Ability to work effectively with a remote manager, manage your daily task queue, meet deadlines, and keep leadership informed with minimal direct, on-site supervision.
- You take full accountability for your work, driving projects to resolution and handling day-to-day duties, ensuring complete follow-through with minimal direction.
- High standards for personal accountability, professional ethics, and handling sensitive employee data and administrative privileges.
- A helpful, approachable communication style paired with strong follow-up skills across local teams and remote leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the company's FMLA program end to end, determining employee eligibility, issuing required notices and designations, tracking intermittent and continuous leave usage, coordinating medical certifications and recertifications, and ensuring full compliance with federal FMLA regulations.
- Administer and track additional state and local leave entitlements, ensuring full compliance with the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act (PLAWA), the Family Bereavement Leave Act (FBLA), and the Victims' Economic Security and Safety Act (VESSA).
- Serve as the primary, on-site HR resource, independently managing daily priorities, anticipating issues before they escalate, and following through on open items without requiring reminders or follow-up from leadership.
- Manage the company's Workers' Compensation program, including filing timely claims, maintaining required OSHA logs, coordinating with insurance carriers, and managing return-to-work or light-duty programs in compliance with the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential employee personnel files, including regular audit and verification of Form I-9 documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding HR policies, procedures, and the interpretation of employment law.
- Manage conflict resolution, address staff grievances, and apply disciplinary action fairly and consistently.
- Manage the complete recruitment life cycle, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and executing smooth onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Oversee employee benefits programs, assisting team members with enrollment, status changes, and claims, and providing comprehensive support during annual open enrollment.
- Accurately update and submit payroll-related changes, new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, deductions, and leave data to the payroll department on time and without errors.
- Collaborate with outside vendors, upper management, and employees to maintain HR standards and best practices.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute employee engagement, recognition, and culture-building initiatives that foster a positive, collaborative workplace.
- Participate in and support broader HR initiatives and organizational projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of well-rounded HR Generalist experience, ideally in a stand-alone or remote-reporting capacity.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (required).
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity experience is a plus).
- Solid working understanding of federal and Illinois labor laws, leave mandates, and Workers' Compensation workflows.
- High attention to detail, strong time management, self-accountability, and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
