We have a challenging and exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer I who is eager to learn and expand on foundational engineering practices in a growing and entrepreneurial company.
Primary Purpose:
The Mechanical Engineer I supports the design, analysis, and documentation of mechanical components and systems under the guidance of more senior engineers. This is an entry-level role with limited scope and close management, focused on learning foundational engineering practices while contributing to CAD modeling, basic analysis, and prototype support. This position supports the activities of both engineering and some production/manufacturing.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and detail drawings using CAD software under the direction of senior engineers.
- Assist with material selection and basic engineering analysis (e.g., tolerance stack-ups, basic FEA) for mechanical components.
- Support the build, testing, and evaluation of prototypes and marketing samples.
- Maintain, update, and correct existing engineering data, drawings, and documentation.
- Assist in identifying and troubleshooting basic design and manufacturability issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Technical:
- Hands-on experience and/or strong knowledge of machining, metal fabrication, die casting and molding.
- Ability to check drawings ensuring parts are fully defined, properly toleranced and will fit and function properly with associated parts.
- Understanding of product development cycle, from concept to market.
- 0-2 years of experience in a mechanical engineering, new product development, or sustaining engineering role.
- A demonstrated high level of mechanical intuition.

Preferred:
- Exposure to SolidWorks 3D modeling or similar 3D modeling software.
- Basic understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn from senior engineering staff.
- Familiarity with using AI tools to streamline problem-solving and workflow tasks is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
