What You’ll Do
- Take ownership of critical infrastructure platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability across production environments.
- Drive system upgrades, patching, maintenance, and new technology implementations with minimal disruption to customers and business operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, leveraging your expertise to diagnose root causes and deliver lasting solutions.
- Build, enhance, and automate secure, scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code and modern engineering best practices.
- Play a key role in modernizing on-premises virtualization environment and shaping the future of the company’s technology landscape.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business, contribute to change reviews, and champion continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen systems and processes.
- Share knowledge and make a meaningful impact by fostering a collaborative culture while supporting the company’s sustainability goals.
Key Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years' experience in a Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator role.
- Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, CentOS) and/or Windows administration experience, including deployment, automation, performance tuning, resource management, and on-premises systems support.
- Hands-on experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Python, PowerShell, JSON, and YAML.
- Exposure to Git, GitLab/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices would be a great advantage.
- Experience supporting virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Oracle OLVM, VMware/KVM is a plus point!
- Understanding of enterprise infrastructure, including backup and disaster recovery, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls) is good to have.
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Nagios would be a good advantage.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to maintain technical documentation and participate in an after-hours on-call roster.
Work setup:
- Kuala Lumpur (Mid Valley City): Malaysian hours (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM MYT) Hybrid work setup (twice a month onsite).
