Position Overview

We are seeking a Windows Engineer who is a hardworking, competitive type with that is driven to succeed with a natural sense of urgency; a self-starter with a reputation for being an effective team player, who proactively looks to improve and add efficiency to current processes.  Someone who exercises judgment in the decision-making process in order to provide consistent customer serviceand  highly proficient in problem solving with the ability to follow a systematic troubleshooting approach.

Responsibilities

• Administering and troubleshooting on a large scale enterprise Windows environment, to include all supported subsystems and 3rd party applications.
• Planning, Design, Implementation, and Troubleshooting of everything on the Windows server and workstation platforms.  
• Add improvements and efficiency to current processes
• Provide consistent customer service
• Be part of a 24x7 “on-call” engineering team with availability on nights and/or weekends for troubleshooting, maintenance, and any other special circumstances

Required Experience/Qualifications

• 7+ years of related experience
• Expert level experience in PowerShell scripting, in order to demonstrate an ability to automate routine tasks for daily operations and maintenance 
• Expert level skillset in Microsoft technologies including IIS, MSSQL and Active Directory 
• Must be highly skilled and proficient in problem solving and able to follow a systematic troubleshooting approach—very strong troubleshooting skills required 
• Methodical approach to change execution and implementation 
• Demonstrated understanding of TCP/IP 
• Excellent communication skills in working with technical and non-technical people and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships among all levels of an organization 
• Ability to obtain a Position of Trust Clearance
• Ability to work onsite at the customer's location in Alexandria, VA; Work-from-home available on a case by case basis
• 24x7 On-call rotation for after hours support

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in computer related fields, technical certifications related to responsibilities, or equivalent professional experience 
• Familiarity with common frameworks, languages and server technologies used to develop large-scale applications 
• Experience with Microsoft C# programming language 
• Experience designing and supporting highly available application infrastructure 
• Knowledge of networking concepts and services with ability to troubleshoot (DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL, TLS, SFTP, routing, switching, firewalls) 
• Sound knowledge of Windows and VMware HA environments including VMware HA/DRS/SRM 
• Understanding of SAN to server connectivity including within NetApp and EMC platforms 
• Experience and comfort with hosted/cloud based solutions 

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust

Salary Range

Salary Minimum: $90,000

Salary Maximum: $125,000
