Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager, Feedstock Operations plays a critical role in strengthening the Feedstock Operations function by driving stakeholder engagement, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and supporting strategic operational initiatives.

This role serves as a key liaison between internal departments and external business partners to ensure seamless operational execution, resolve complex operational challenges, and establish scalable processes that support sustainable business growth.

You will possess strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills, together with a solid understanding of feedstock operations, supply chain management, inventory control, and operational governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key internal and external stakeholders across the feedstock value chain.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, logistics service providers, terminal operators, and internal business functions.
  • Lead discussions, negotiations, and alignment meetings to address operational challenges and achieve business objectives.
  • Drive effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams, including Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Quality, and Legal.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, control, compliance, and service performance.
  • Identify operational risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and business impacts.
  • Establish, maintain, and strengthen governance frameworks, operating procedures, and best practices.
  • Support the implementation of new systems, digitalization initiatives, and process improvement programs.
  • Develop a robust operational foundation that supports business expansion and long-term organizational growth.
  • Lead and participate in strategic projects and special initiatives related to feedstock operations.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics and recommend improvement opportunities to optimize business outcomes.
  • Support business planning activities by providing operational insights and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members to support capability development and operational excellence.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and results-oriented team culture within the Ex-China Feedstock Operations function.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in feedstock operations, supply chain management, commodity trading operations, logistics, procurement, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven track record in managing commercial discussions, negotiations, and supplier/customer relationships.
  • Experience in process improvement, operational governance, and business transformation initiatives will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • High level of accountability, initiative, ownership, and business acumen.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results through collaboration and effective stakeholder engagement.
