Project Lead, School of Leadership Programs

About DaVita

DaVita is a leading provider of kidney care in the United States, delivering dialysis services to patients with chronic kidney failure and end-stage renal disease. Our mission is to be the provider, partner, and employer of choice. At DaVita, we strive to be a community first and a company second, embedding belonging into everything we do so that every teammate feels this is "a place where I belong."

Job Summary

The Project Lead (P3) for the School of Leadership oversees the administration, maintenance, and execution of high-impact onboarding, professional and leadership development initiatives. This role manages complex projects end-to-end, making well-reasoned recommendations to drive programmatic success and organizational alignment. The Project Lead collaborates across DaVita University, faculty, learning professionals and business leaders to develop and sustain programs that empower teammates at every stage of their career journey.

This is an individual contributor role that acts as a 'Workstream Owner,' meaning you will drive the strategy and timelines for our programs through collaborative influence across the Village, rather than through direct people management.

Program Portfolio

The Project Lead will provide operational and project management support for a diverse portfolio within the School of Leadership. This includes leading and managing the following types of initiatives:

  • Village Onboarding & Culture Immersion: Directing core programs designed to ground all new teammates in our mission, values, and the "DaVita Way."
  • Professional Development Pathways: Managing foundational development pipelines that equip teammates with the skills needed to thrive in their current roles and prepare for future career steps.
  • Leadership Onboarding & Essentials: Overseeing standardized cohort-based experiences that provide newly hired or promoted leaders with the foundational skills and tools for a strong start.
  • Advanced Leadership Performance: Managing immersive programs for tenured leaders centered on self-awareness, feedback loops, and mastery of the DaVita Leadership Principles.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

  • Accountability: Manage initiatives from end-to-end, creating roadmaps, determining resourcing, and providing regular updates to key stakeholders.
  • Taking Ownership: Establish work goals within the functional area and consistently communicate progress and results to leadership.
  • Complexity: Deliver on goals for multiple projects simultaneously, identifying risks in advance and implementing mitigation strategies to keep work moving forward.

Learning & Development Operations

  • Program Administration: Oversee the planning, preparation, and execution of workshops and training sessions, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Evaluation: Develop and analyze metrics to measure program effectiveness, utilizing data to recommend continuous improvements to senior leadership.
  • Technical Stewardship: Maintain program databases and leverage educational technologies (LMS) to enhance the learner experience.

Stakeholder Influence & Collaboration

  • Influence: Build strong partnerships across peer groups and cross-functional teams; influence without authority to align stakeholders toward shared decisions.
  • Coaching: Guide and advise others across lanes, serving as a peer leader within the School of Leadership team.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective meetings and present confidently to stakeholders, connecting project objectives to broader Village outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in project management, adult learning, or leadership development.
  • Level Alignment: Proven track record in an area of expertise with a comprehensive understanding of functional project management (P3 equivalent experience).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management tools, Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint), and Learning Management Systems.

What We’ll Provide

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and PTO
  • Village Support: Family resources, EAP counseling, Headspace® access, and backup care and more
