About the role

We are looking for an Advisor – Global Payroll Systems ESPS to join Rio Tinto’s Employee Support & Payroll Services (ESPS) Global Payroll Systems team. Supporting payroll systems, reporting and continuous improvement activities across regions, this role partners closely with regional ESPS teams, Group Services BI, HR and IS&T functions.

This is a great opportunity for a technically strong payroll systems professional who enjoys working at the intersection of payroll, technology and process improvement. We are seeking a payroll systems specialist who can apply deep payroll systems knowledge, analyse payroll data, support testing activities, troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement across payroll technology and reporting platforms.

Reporting to the Manager, Global Payroll Systems and working in a collaborative global environment, you will be:

• Supporting payroll systems activities that improve payroll process efficiency, accuracy and global alignment across the payroll function.

• Providing practical technical and process support to payroll teams and stakeholders, including issue investigation, troubleshooting and query resolution.

• Building, testing and maintaining Spinifex reports and report enhancements, ensuring outputs are accurate, fit for purpose and aligned with approved business requirements.

• Supporting payroll system testing activities, including UAT planning, UAT Design, execution, reconciliation and validation of system changes.

• Executing payroll system testing, validation and reporting activities, including preparation of payroll-related reports, reconciliations and data extracts.

• Supporting SAP, Spinifex and other payroll system changes, including deployments, divestments, support packs and approved business change requests.

• Performing detailed payroll data analysis to identify anomalies, investigate root causes, validate outcomes and recommend solutions.

• Assisting with system troubleshooting, interface support and continuous improvement initiatives in partnership with Group Services BI, HR and IS&T teams, while maintaining payroll systems documentation, job aids and knowledge articles.

About you

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.

• Demonstrated experience working with payroll systems and payroll operations, with strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processing, controls and compliance requirements.

• Experience building, maintaining and supporting Spinifex (SpinFX) reports and responding to reporting requirements from business stakeholders.

• Strong SAP Payroll experience, including reporting, testing and understanding the downstream impacts of system changes.

• Advanced Excel and payroll data analysis capability, with the ability to identify anomalies, investigate root causes, validate outcomes and recommend solutions.

• Experience supporting payroll testing activities including UAT planning, design, execution, reconciliation and validation, together with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Experience supporting payroll environments across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, and working across Payroll, HR and IS&T functions will be highly regarded.

Working closely with Payroll, HR, Group Services BI and IS&T teams, you will contribute to the delivery of reliable, efficient and scalable payroll services that support employees across the globe.
