Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute lesson plans that establish high expectations for students in all curriculum areas on a daily basis.
• Create learning spaces that support and enhance curriculum activities.
• Provide the children with age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth.
• Utilize a variety of educational techniques to provide and encourage a diverse learning environment.
• Develop and maintain encouraging, supportive, and professional relationships with children, parents, and coworkers.
• Work cooperatively with Assistant Teachers to enhance the classroom atmosphere.
• Encourage and supervise children during all activities.
• Ensure that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained.
• Ensure a clean and healthy classroom atmosphere by maintaining children’s proper hygiene and following proper policies and procedures.
• Ensure all needs of the children are met in a timely manner, such as diapering, toilet training, meal preparation and serving, clean-up, and rest time as appropriate for the highest level of care.
• Maintain progress reports for academic, social, and developmental growth for parents and families.
• Maintain appropriate reporting and documentation as needed.
Qualifications: The Lead Teacher must:
• Have a degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or Special Education
• Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
• Highly professional and dependable
• Must be able to obtain clearances in a timely manner
• Willingness to participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary staff and work with different age groups
• Must be able to lift 25lbs
• Must have a current, or be able to maintain a physical and TB test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
