Position Summary
The Mixologist delivers a refined, personalized, genuine, and consistent cocktail experience across all bars, lounges, and beverage
venues onboard. This role safeguards the integrity and execution of Silversea's classic and signature cocktails, ensuring every drink
reflects Silversea F&B Core Service Standards and Silversea Way service principles.
Working closely with the Beverage Operations Manager and shoreside teams, the Mixologist ensures flawless recipe accuracy,
technique, garnish work, glassware selection, and presentation. The role leads beverage-related training, drives cocktail consistency
across the ship, supports revenue growth through elevated guest engagement and craftsmanship, and contributes to guest
satisfaction and overall operational excellence.

Subordinates: (Bartenders, SALT Bartenders, Bar Servers, Pool Supervisor, Pool Attendants)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
Delivers a refined and personalized cocktail experience aligned with Silversea Core Service Standards.
Engages with guests to provide cocktail recommendations, spirit insights, and storytelling.
Supports cocktail demonstrations, mixology classes, tastings, and hosted experiences.
Assists with service recovery and ensures guest expectations are exceeded.
Contributes to beverage revenue performance through confident recommendations and cocktail leadership.
Cocktail Consistency & Program Execution
Ensures full consistency of all cocktails aboard: classic, signature, seasonal, venue-specific, SALT, and luxury cocktails.
Conducts recipe audits and sensory checks (dilution, balance, aroma, temperature, garnish, glassware).
Maintains the official Cocktail Specification Manual and ensures correct implementation fleetwide.
Supports menu rollouts, beverage list changes, and seasonal updates to maintain consistency.
Ensures accuracy in preparation, yield, and visual presentation across all bars.
Training & Team Development
Leads hands-on training for bartenders, bar servers, and beverage teams on technique, accuracy, speed, guest interaction,
and product knowledge.
Conducts pre-service cocktail briefings and daily beverage highlights.
Supports onboarding of newly hired and newly promoted beverage staff.
Works with Training & Development to maintain structured bartender and server training pathways.
Identifies talent and contributes to development and succession planning across the beverage team.
Operational Support
Supports BOM during peak operations, special events, receptions, and complex service periods.
Ensures readiness of bar mise-en-place, craft ingredient stations, infusions, cordials, syrups, garnishes, and tools.
Participates in layout and workflow assessments to improve efficiency and quality.
Assists SALT Bar, Dolce Vita, and signature venues with specialty beverage activations.
Provides technical expertise to support smooth daily bar operations.
Inventory, Product Quality & Cost Awareness
Ensures proper storage, labeling, rotation, and shelf-life management of all house-made cocktail ingredients.
Monitors consumption of cocktail-related items (bitters, specialty syrups, garnishes, premium glassware).
Identifies low-use SKUs and supports BOM in reduction initiatives.
Ensures accurate portioning and recipe adherence to support beverage cost goals.
Reports consumption trends and inconsistencies to the BOM.
Innovation & Collaboration
Collaborates with the shoreside F&B and SALT teams to pilot new beverages, menu concepts, and global mixology trends.
Creates destination-inspired cocktails and seasonal offerings aligned with Silversea's luxury identity.
Works with premium venues to develop bespoke experiences and elevated beverage touchpoints.
Ensures all innovations remain aligned with brand standards and operational feasibility.
Public Health, Safety & Legal Compliance
Ensures full compliance with Public Health, HACCP, sanitation, and bar hygiene standards.
Ensures correct cleaning and sanitizing of tools, glassware, and preparation areas.
Ensures safe handling of alcohol, chemicals, syrups, and food-grade cocktail components.
Complies with all legal requirements for alcohol service, including responsible service and age verification.
Participates in PH inspections, safety audits, and sanitation reviews.
Safety Duties:
Participates in crew and guest safety drills according to instructions
Always complies with the Company's safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures.
Participates in all mandatory training
Leads by example by taking care of Health and Safety of self and others
Ensures that all work equipment, personal protective equipment, chemicals and safety devices are being used correctly.
Delivering training, guidance and supervision on how to use and maintain them
Qualifications
Valid STCW95 certification.
Minimum 3–5 years of professional mixology experience in luxury hospitality.
Mastery of classic cocktails, modern techniques, premium spirits, and beverage theory.
Experience training diverse teams and delivering structured instruction.
Strong recipe documentation, costing awareness, and product quality control.
Must be physically and medically fit.
Excellent English communication and presentation skills; additional languages are an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
Exceptional technical cocktail knowledge and craftsmanship.

High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy at all times.

Familiarity with POS systems and digital spec documentation.
Language requirements:
Excellent fluent English (verbal and written) is mandatory. English is the working and safety language on board Silversea vessels. This
also includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with
guests and crew members. Any other language is a plus.
Computer knowledge:
1. Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications is required
2. Previous experience with Fidelio is desirable
3. Efficient at all computers-based tasks
