Production Utility
Pay: $20 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Wednesday, 5:40 AM–6:00 PM
Job Summary
We are hiring a Production Utility to support daily operations in a specialty plastics manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on production support position responsible for keeping equipment and work areas clean, ensuring raw materials are available, supporting production operators, and maintaining a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
This position is a good fit for someone with experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, material handling, machine operation, or general labor who is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
Responsibilities
- Support production operators and the manufacturing team with daily production activities
- Clean equipment, including upstream and downstream machinery, according to work instructions
- Remove manufacturing debris and residue from floors, machine surfaces, and work areas
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment
- Review production instructions and assist with meeting production requirements
- Check that raw materials are available for production operators
- Assist with preparing and staging raw materials, including materials requiring drying
- Operate the floor cleaning machine ("Zamboni") for washing and buffing floors as needed
- Assist production employees with various manufacturing tasks
- Identify and report unsafe working conditions, injuries, equipment concerns, or other issues
- Take immediate action to help prevent unsafe conditions when possible
- Follow all safety regulations and company procedures
- Follow applicable ISO requirements
- Communicate concerns to the Production Supervisor
- Work as part of a team to meet production, quality, safety, and customer expectations
- Perform other production and utility duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent OR 1–3 years of related experience, training, or a combination of education and experience
- Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, material handling, or general labor experience preferred
- Ability to read and follow safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
- Basic math skills, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to calculate basic rates, ratios, and percentages
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete required training
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Dependable attendance and ability to report to the manufacturing floor on time
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- No certifications or licenses required
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on manufacturing position. Candidates should be comfortable with:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Bending, stooping, reaching, and other physical production tasks
- Handling and moving raw materials and production materials
- Cleaning machinery and production areas
- Working around manufacturing equipment and machinery
- Performing repetitive tasks as needed
- Wearing required PPE and following safety procedures
Work Environment
- Specialty plastics manufacturing environment
- Work around production machinery and manufacturing equipment
- Exposure to manufacturing debris, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise may occur
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration
- Safety procedures and ISO requirements must be followed at all times
